Mahfud MD Calls The Kemenkopolhukam Team To Step In To Guard The Case Of AKBP Achirudin Hasibuan

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD said the Kemenkopolhukam Team was also involved to directly monitor North Sumatra in the case of AKBP Achirudin Hasibuan.

He also praised the decisive steps taken by the North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Panca Putra Simanjuntak removed AKBP Achirudin Hasibuan from his position as head of the North Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate.

AKBP Achirudin was dismissed from his position as Head of the Operations Division of the North Sumatra Police's Narcotics Directorate (North Sumatra) after being questioned by the Profession and Security Division (Propam) of the North Sumatra Police for his actions of allowing his son to abuse a student.

"It has been dealt with, and I appreciate Pak Panca, the North Sumatra Police Chief, he has taken steps," said Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, quoted by ANTARA, April 27.

It was also said that a team from the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Kemenkopolhukam) had also been sent to North Sumatra to oversee the AKBP Achirudin case.

"I have also sent a team there," said Mahfud MD.

The results of the North Sumatra Police Propam examination show that AKBP Achirudin violated Article 13 letter M of Police Regulation Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Professional Code of Ethics and the Police Code of Ethics Commission.

The regulation regulates that every Polri official in his personality ethics is prohibited from committing acts of violence, being rude, and inappropriate.

AKBP Achirudin was not only removed from his post, but he was also placed in special custody.

"Achirudin Hasibuan is also placed in the special detention of the North Sumatra Police Propam," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Pol. Hadi Wahyudi in Medan, last Wednesday.

Hadi emphasized that the North Sumatra Police Chief does not tolerate any police behavior and actions that injure the good name of the Police, including those committed by AKBP Achirudin.

The case of AKBP Achirudin has become a public spotlight after a video recording of him allowing his son to persecute a student went viral on social media.

The abuse case was actually reported about 4 months ago to the Medan Polrestabes, but stalled. The North Sumatra Police on Thursday took over the abuse case.
