JAKARTA - Thousands of residents carry out Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri prayers at the Great Mosque of North Sumatra, Medan, Saturday, April 22. The mosque, which is located on Jalan Pangeran Diponegoro, Medan City, is actually being renovated. The proud Mosque of North Sumatra will be expected to be completed during Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri prayers.

Acting as a preacher of Dr H Dedi Iskandar Batubara, and imam of Al Hafizh H Muhammad Syukur Siregar, S.Pdi. In hisumption, Dedi Iskandar Batubara said that at the moment of Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah this can increase the faith and piety of Muslims to Allah SWT. "Idul Fitri is actually our return to sacred, before we fully fast, with that opportunity, increasing our faith and taqwa to Allah SWT," said Dedi Iskandar Batubara, Saturday, quoted by Antara. He also reminded the congregation of Eid prayers to continue to maintain worship, especially zikr as it was done in the month of Ramadan and not to leave mandatory worship. "Never again after the completion of fasting we do not carry out mandatory prayers and let us continue to do remembrance," he said.

Pemantauan di lokasi, umat Muslim yang melaksanakan shalat Idul Fitri itu tidak hanya memadati ruangan di dalam masjid, halaman masjid, tetapi juga di bagian tempat parkir kendaraan roda empat.Jamaah yang melaksanakan shalat Idul Fitri 1444 Hijrah di Masjid Agung Sumut tidak hanya warga Medan, tetapi juga penduduk dari luar daerah yakni Aceh, Binjai, Langkat, dan beberapa daerah lainnya di Provinsi Sumatera Utara.Berdasarkan keputusan sidang isbat oleh Pemerintah melalui Kementerian Agama menyatakan Lebaran Idul Fitri jatuh pada Sabtu, 22 April 2023.
