Ganjar Becomes PDIP Presidential Candidate, Anies Baswedan Congratulates: God Willing, Mandate

JAKARTA - Former Governor of DKI Jakarta as well as a candidate for president of the Democratic National Party (NasDem) Anies Baswedan congratulated the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo who had been appointed by the PDIP as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election. "Congratulations, I say to Pak Ganjar, God willing, the mandate that has been carried out well," said Anies after attending the Eid Al-Fitr prayer at the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta, Saturday, April 22. He hopes that Ganjar's can nomination as a presidential candidate can provide great benefits to the community and make Indonesia's democracy more established. "Hopefully, all of this will continue to make our democracy more established and provide greater benefits for the entire community," continued Anies. Previously, the PDI-P (PDIP) finally officially announced Ganjar Pranowo, who has been touted as the white hair as the figure who will be Joko Widodo's successor in the 2024 presidential election. The announcement was officially made by Megawati Soekarnoputri, Friday, April 21. "At 13.45 WIB, establishing Ganjar Pranowo as a cadre and party officer to be upgraded as a presidential candidate from the PDIP," said Megawati at the Batu Tulis Palace, Bogor, West Java, Friday, April 21. Meanwhile, regarding Ganjar's candidacy, - Democratic Party spokesman Herzaky Mahendra Putra emphasized that his party will continue to carry the Presidential Candidate (Capres) Anies Baswedan, regardless of the announcement of the presidential candidate by PDI-P (PDIP).

"Anyone who is a presidential candidate from the PDIP or the Great Coalition, both Puan, Ganjar, and others for the Democrats, is no different. The Democrats and the Change Coalition will remain consistent in carrying Anies Baswedan," said Herzaky.
