Police Guard Eid Prayers For Muhammadiyah Residents In Pamakesan

The Pamekasan Police, East Java, deployed 30 personnel to secure the Eid prayer for Muhammadiyah residents at the Pamekasan Bakorwil 4 Courtyard.

"A total of 30 personnel are a combination of various units assisted by security post officers for Lebaran 2023 and related agencies within the Pamekasan Regency Government," said Head of Public Relations of the Pamekasan Police, Iptu Sri Sugiharto, as reported by Antara, Friday, April 21.

Security is emphasized in regulating the flow of residents, guarding motorized vehicles in pilgrims, and traffic flow around the location.

"Alhamdulillah, the activities are safe and conducive," he said.

Eid prayers at the Pamekasan Bakorwil 4 Courtyard, are one of 17 locations for Eid prayers for Pamekasan Muhammadiyah on Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah which falls on April 21, 2023.

Acting as Imam Uztaz Arief (Imam of the Taqwa Pamekasan Mosque) with Khatib KH Moh Fahri (Professor of the Entrepreneur Islamic Boarding School Muhammadiyah Gondanglegi), Malang, East Java.

The determination of the 1st of Syawal 1444 Hijri Muhammadiyah is different from the government and Islamic organizations of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) which fell on April 22, 2023.

This difference is because the government is based on the agreement provisions of the Minister of Religion of Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and Singapore (MABINS) which states that the new moon if it is at least 3 degrees above the horizon, while Muhammadiyah does not determine the minimum number.

For Muhammadiyah, every month above the horizon has entered the new moon, so even though it is not up to 3 degrees according to the MABINS agreement.
