Arriving In Germany, Jokowi Will Attend The Hannover Messe 2023 Manufacturing Industry Exhibition

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) arrived at Hannover Airport, Hannover, Germany, Saturday, April 15 at around 20.25 local time. The head of state is scheduled to attend the Hannover Messe 2023 manufacturing industry exhibition, and a bilateral meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Quoting the official statement from the Presidential Secretariat via Antara, Sunday, April 16, morning, the President accompanied by First Lady Iriana Jokowi arrived at Hannover Airport after traveling for approximately 15 hours using the Garuda Indonesia GIA-1 aircraft.

After the plane stopped perfectly, the Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Arif Havas Oegroseno was seen boarding the plane to welcome him. Then, the Director of Protocol of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs Daniela Vogl escorted the President and First Lady Iriana down by plane.

Under the plane's stairs, the Lower Saxony State Protocol Chief Matthias Woiwode, the wife of the Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Sartika Oegroseno, and the Indonesian Defense Attache Colonel Budi Wibowo and his wife also welcomed it.

Furthermore, the President and Iriana and their entourage went straight to the hotel where they spent the night visiting Hannover.

Arriving at the hotel, he seemed to welcome the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, and Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita who had arrived first.

In Hannover, President Jokowi is scheduled to attend Hannover Messe 2023. In addition, the President is also scheduled to meet with the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz for a bilateral meeting.

Indonesia became the first ASEAN country to become an official partner at Hannover Messe in 2023. The theme carried by Indonesia at the largest industrial exhibition in Europe was "Making Indonesia 4.0".

"Germany is an important trading and investment partner in Europe, the largest trading partner among European countries, and the fourth largest investor from the European region," said President Jokowi at Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, Saturday (15/4) before taking off to Hannover, Germany.

The President and First Lady are scheduled to arrive back in Jakarta on April 18, 2023.
