Modus Promised To Work In A Company From Deposit Of IDR 7 Million, The Perpetrator Was Finally Arrested By The Police

The Barelang Police revealed a fraud case with the mode of getting jobs in companies in Batam, and arrested one suspect with the initials S (27 years).

"The suspect S has committed fraud by promising a job to his victim if he gives money worth Rp. 5 to 7 million," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Barelang Police, Kompol Budi Hartono, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 11.

This case, he said, was revealed by reports by victims of fraud, which amounted to hundreds of people.

This was discovered after his party arrested the suspect and found evidence in the form of a notebook of the victim's name which was promised a job.

"The number of victims who have reported to us so far is 125 people and there may be other additional victims," he said.

As for the loss, Budi said that for the time being the recorded losses reached Rp600 million.

From suspect S, the police got the fact that the victim was lured to get a job at a company in the Muka Kuning area without going through the selection process.

"With this lure, the victim was interested so that payments were made by transferring Rp5 to 7 million," he said.

After the money was paid, the victim who asked about the promised job, the suspect continued to argue that there were still no vacancies.

"The work promised by the suspect is not there. However, the suspect continues to make the victim believe that the work still does not exist. Even until now no one has been accepted to work," said Budi.

Budi said that the money from the fraud from the victim was used by the suspect for fun and opening up business capital.

"The suspect is subject to Article 378 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 372 with the threat of a sentence of 4 years in prison," he said.
