Examined By The KPK In Batam, Former Tanjungpinang Walkot Is HIT By 30 Questions

JAKARTA - The former Mayor (Walkot) of Tanjungpinang for the 2013-2018 period, Lis Darmansyah, was questioned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The examination was carried out at the Barelang Police Station, Batam City, Riau Islands (Kepri), Thursday, March 30.

Lis was examined in connection with the alleged corruption case in the regulation of excisable goods by the Bintan Free Trade Area and Free Port Concession Agency (FTZ), Tanjungpinang.

After the examination, Lis, who was wearing a red batik motif, black basic pants and a cap, looked relaxed when met by the media crew.

"Yes, it has been asked for information by KPK investigators. This is to strengthen my statement, which was previously examined for the first time," he said.

Lis arrived at the Barelang Police Station to fulfill the KPK's summons at 13.00 WIB and was investigated by investigators at 15.40 WIB.

"I was examined because at that time I was the ex-officio Mayor, Deputy Chair II of the Bintan Port Free Area Council, Karimun. Asked about my authority, where is the relationship between the Regional Council and BP FTZ. It's only limited to that," he said.

Lis admitted to getting about 30 questions from KPK investigators, and that question was about his knowledge of cigarette excise.

"I really don't know because I know that the issue of cigarette excise tax has the authority in FTZ after the arrest of former Bintan Regent Apri Sujadi. Because since 201, I don't know what the development of FTZ is like," he said.

Previously, KPK investigators had confiscated a number of fictitious documents during a search at the Office of the Free Trade Area (BP) and Bintan Free Port for the Tanjungpinang City Area, Riau Islands.

"The evidence found and secured includes various fictitious processing documents for the cigarette quota allegedly compiled by parties related to this case," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in Jakarta, Wednesday.

Ali said investigators would immediately analyze the document to complete the evidence and it would also be confirmed to the witnesses and suspects.
