Anies Baswedan Gives Team 8 A Mandate To Draft Vice Presidential Candidates, These Names Enter Radar

JAKARTA - The presidential candidate from the Coalition for Change, Anies Baswedan, gave a mandate to a small team from NasDem, Democrats, and PKS to draft a vice-presidential candidate (cawapres) who will assist in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

This small team consists of eight people, hereinafter referred to as team 8. The members of the team of eight are the Head of the NasDem DPP Willy Aditya, and the Head of the NasDem DPP Sugeng Suparwoto.

Then Deputy Chairman of the PKS Shura Council Sohibul Iman, Chairman of the PKS DPP Al Muzzammil Yusuf, Secretary General of the Democratic Party Teuku Riefky Harsya, and Democratic politician M. Iftitah Sulaiman. Meanwhile, representatives from Anies, namely Sudirman Said and Dadang Dirgantara

The coordinator of Anies Baswedan's team, Sudirman Said, said that team 8 had not yet decided on Anies' vice presidential candidate. According to him, the names that appeared at the negotiating table would still be considered by listening to the voices of the people.

"We haven't gotten there yet. But we are considering all options. We are also listening to the community, the views of community leaders," said Sudirman Said in Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta, Friday, March 24.

Sudirman said Team 8 also presented the names of Anies' companion candidates who met the 5 criteria in the Coalition for Change charter. However, he said, determining the vice presidential candidate remains a matter for Anies as a presidential candidate.

"The criteria have been agreed upon, in terms of the vice presidential candidate we continue to examine starting from electability, and political vulnerability, such as the conditions of the 5 criteria. Then to what extent will he have a role in helping run the government, to what extent can he maintain the balance of the coalition to whether chemistry is considered to be able to form a dual. That is of course Mas Anies' business, yes," he explained.

Sudirman explained, the names that appeared would be worked out by team 8 so that it could be finalized as to who deserved to accompany Anies in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

"Maybe the names were drafted together. We know that Mr. AHY was proposed by the Democrats. Then PKS proposed Mr. Aher. Later, from the outside, we will also see who is eligible and those names are reviewed. We also communicate with those names. ," he explained.

Apart from AHY, Aher, and Khofifah, Sudirman said there were other potential names included in the survey radar. Such as the governor of West Java, former TNI commander, to ministers.

"There are also many who enter the public as mentioned by the survey agency, the media also mention Pak Erick Thohir, Ridwan Kamil, Andika Perkasa, all of which are on our radar," said Sudirman.
