Harun Masiku Is Still At Large, KPK: If His Position Is Known, We Will Pick Him Up Next Week

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the search for fugitive Harun Masiku was still being carried out. They are ready to move quickly if the location of the former General Election Commission (KPU) commissioner Wahyu Setiawan's bribe is detected.

"If we know (certainly) the position in question, for example, we will pick him up next week. That's it," said KPK deputy chairman Alexander Marwata to journalists, Tuesday, March 7.

Alexander made sure every effort was made. They have also tried to accommodate information from the public and cooperate with Interpol.

The KPK is sure that sooner or later they will find the fugitive. Moreover, said Alexander, Harun has family in Indonesia so one day he might return to Indonesia and an arrest could be made.

"Sooner or later the person concerned, right, also has family in Indonesia and so on for sure (goes home and gets caught, ed)," he said.

Currently, the KPK is still pursuing the three fugitives. They are Kirana Kotama, who has been wanted since 2017 for alleged bribery when submitting a revision to the conversion of forest functions in Riau Province in 2014 to the Ministry of Forestry.

Second, Paulus Tannos, who was accused of corruption in the procurement of Electronic Identity Cards (e-KTP). He is currently in Singapore.

Furthermore, former legislative candidate Harun Masiku is also still at large. The whereabouts of the suspect who gave bribes to former General Election Commission (KPU) Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan are still unknown.
