JAKARTA - Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto stated that Sandiaga Uno's problem of becoming a candidate to run in the 2024 presidential election is no longer a mystery.

"I think Mas Sandi has answered many times in all forums that he is obedient and will obey the party's decisions," Prabowo said when visited by the General Chair of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, Sunday, March 5.

In this case, Prabowo responded to PKS' statement about Sandi having the opportunity to be proposed as a vice presidential candidate (cawapres) Anies Baswedan for the 2024 presidential election

Prabowo explained that Sandi is still a member of the Gerindra Party. As an active cadre who serves as Deputy Chair of the Gerindra Party Board of Trustees, Prabowo ensures Sandi is fully committed to supporting the 2024 Gerindra Presidential Candidate.

"The party's decision is clear I am the presidential candidate. I think that is. As long as he (Sandi) is still in the party, I think he will obey the party line," said Prabowo.

Today Prabowo came to the NasDem group led directly by the Head of NasDem Surya Paloh. The group arrived at Prabowo's residence in Hambalang, Bogor, Sunday, March 5 afternoon.

On that occasion, Prabowo explained that the Gerindra and NasDem gatherings were expected to realize a conducive and unpolarized political contestation atmosphere. The two parties do not want the 2024 elections to occur like the previous elections. Although recognized by the two parties from different coalitions, the agreement to respect their respective choices is the solution of Gerindra and NasDem. "That regarding the coalition, regarding the presidential and vice presidential candidates, we have agreed that we will respect each other's political decisions. We (Gerindra) will respect whatever the political decisions of Pak Surya with NasDem. As a friend, whatever we respect political decisions. They (NasDem) will respect our political decisions," Prabowo said. "So, the coalition is part of the political decision, the path chosen by each," he said.
