JAKARTA - Defendants Hendra Kurniawan and Agus Nurpatria will undergo trial for the verdict in the obstruction of justice case or obstacles to the investigation into the murder of Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J, today.

The trial of both of them was postponed because the panel of judges had not yet finished drafting the verdict.

"Yes, today is hearing for the verdict of the defendants Hendra Kurniawan and Agus Nurpatria", said South Jakarta District Court Public Relations official Djuyamto to VOI, Monday, February 27.

For the technical trial, the two defendants will hear the verdict separately. Hendra Kurniawan is likely to undergo trial first.

"Later, we will take turns carrying out the verdict", said Djuyamto.

In this series of cases, Hendra Kurniawan played the role of ordering Agus Nurpatria to take and replace the CCTV DVR at Ferdy Sambo's official residence located at the National Police Complex, Duren Tiga, South Jakarta. In fact, CCTV is one important piece of evidence in disclosing the case.

The former Head of the Bureau of Internal Security for the Professional and Security Division of the National Police was charged with imprisonment for 3 years and a fine of IDR 20 million.

For the defendant Agus Nurpatria, his role is not much different. The orders he received from Hendra Kurniawan were forwarded to Irfan Widyanto.

Irfan Widyanto also took and replaced the CCTV DVR which contained footage of Brigadier J's still life.

The defendant Agus Nurpatria was charged with imprisonment for 3 years and a fine of IDR 20 million.

The charge is made because their actions are believed to violate Article 49 in conjunction with Article 33 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.
