TNI Falls Super Puma Helps Evacuation Victims Of The Jambi Police Helicopter

Head of the Indonesian Air Force Information Service (Kadispenau) Marsma TNI Indan Gilang Buldansyah stated that his party had prepared a Super Puma helicopter to evacuate passengers of the Jambi Police helicopter who had to make an emergency landing in the Bukit Tamia area, Kerinci Regency, Jambi.

Kadispenau said the Indonesian Air Force helicopter NAS-332 Super Puma H-321, which was seconded for the evacuation mission, on Tuesday morning, had moved to the Kerinci hydropad, but the entire evacuation team had not moved further because it faced weather constraints towards the intended location.

"Indeed, there were weather problems and we updated maybe a few hours ago the mission could not be carried out. But a scenario has been prepared, so we are working with the National Police and Basarnas," said Indan as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 21.

According to Kadispenau, there were four helicopters prepared by the joint team to carry out a mission to evacuate the Jambi Regional Police helicopter passengers from making the emergency landing.

The four helicopters are all equipped with assist equipment so they can carry out evaluations by maneuvering or without landing.

"So the helicopter does not need to land at the location but dives approximately 30 meters from the target and will deploy the crane, which will evacuate and will take it to a place where further assistance is being carried out," said Indan.

Kadispenau added that in the SAR team that strengthened the Indonesian Air Force Super Puma helicopter, there was also an attached doctor, so he could provide treatment for victims who were evacuated during the trip to the advanced rescue point.

On the other hand, Kadispenau said that in addition to weather factors, the topography of the Jambi Police helicopter emergency landing site in the form of cliffs was another obstacle for the team in evacuating the victims.

"I think I saw trees that needed caution from the helicopter crew and also the rescue workers who did their job," said Indan.

As previously reported, the Bell 412 SP Police helicopter with registration number P-301 carrying the Jambi Police Chief had to make an emergency landing due to weather conditions in the Tamia Forest area, Batang Merangin District, Kerinci Regency, Sunday (19/2).

At the time of the incident, the Jambi Police Chief was on a working visit to Kerinci Regency and Sungaipurah City.

Participating in the Jambi Police Chief's entourage was the Director of Criminal Investigation at the Jambi Police, Kombes Pol Andri Ananta Yudhistira, Director of Polairud Polda Jambi Kombes Pol Michael Mumbunan, Korspri and Adc Kapolda.
