The Family Firmly Says that Lukas Enembe is Sick: If Something Goes On, We Are Not Responsible!

JAKARTA - Elius Enembe accused the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) of lying about the health condition of the inactive Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe. He said, his brother currently has acute kidney disease and even has stage 5.

"Mr. Lukas suffers from chronic kidney failure from stage four to five", Elius told reporters in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 21.

Elius claimed he got this confirmation from the doctor who treated Luke at the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital. "The impact of this illness causes swelling of the feet, and continuous urination, so you have to use pampers and often salivate", he said.

So, the family regretted that Lukas was called healthy. "Is the KPK honest?", asked Elius.

The family said Elius, also regretted the attitude of the team of doctors from the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) to the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital which stated that Lukas could be questioned by investigators on suspicions of bribery and gratuities that ensnared him.

He said the family would not be held responsible if Lukas experienced unwanted things at the Pomdam Jaya Guntur Detention Center. Elius is sure that if this happens there could be turmoil in Papua which cannot be suppressed.

Moreover, it has been claimed that Lukas has received inhumane treatment. "We and all the Papuan people will ask for accountability from the Corruption Eradication Commission, the Ministry of Health, IDI, RSPAD and also the National Human Rights Commission", he said.

"Including that we will not be held responsible if there is turmoil in society which causes a disturbance of security and order in the land of Papua", continued Elius.

Elius confirmed that many Papuans were crying because Lukas had to be detained by the KPK. In fact, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD was accused of not knowing the condition of Papua because he said that the area was fine after the arrest.

"If the Papuan people are currently considered to be silent, take it easy, as the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD thinks, then he doesn't actually know and understand the real conditions that exist in the Papuan community today", he said.

"They are watching this whole situation in their grieving hearts", Elius said.

As previously reported, Lukas became a suspect in alleged bribery and gratuities because he allegedly received money from PT Tabi Bangun Papua Director Rijantono Lakka. The award was made so that the private company could get a project in Papua.

The KPK stated that there was an agreement on a fee of 14 percent of the contract value and payment must be free from tax deductions.

After the agreement, Rijantono's company received three projects. The first is the improvement of Entrop-Hamadi Road with a project value of IDR 14.8 billion.

Rehabilitation of supporting facilities and infrastructure for Integration PAUD with a project value of IDR 13.3 billion. Finally, the venue environmental management project is developing the AURI outdoor with a project value of IDR 12.9 billion.

After the project was won, Rijantono handed over IDR 1 billion to Lukas. Apart from that, Lukas is also suspected of receiving gratuities of up to tens of billions which the KPK is currently investigating.

Apart from Lukas, the KPK suspects that there are other officials involved in receiving bribes and gratuities. However, investigators are still investigating.
