14 Children Become Victims Of Penculikan Throughout January-February 2022

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) noted that the number of children who were victims of kidnapping during January to February 2023 reached 14 people.

Deputy for Child Special Protection at the Ministry of PPPA Nahar said the number of victims pocketed by his party was based on the latest data from the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI).

"As of 2020, there are 20 children who are victims of kidnapping. As of 2021, there are 15 children. During 2022 there are 34 children and in 2023, two months it has been 14 children," said Deputy for Child Special Protection at the Ministry of PPPA Nahar, Monday, February 20, as reported by Antara.

Meanwhile, according to data from reports that went to the services of Friends of Women and Children (SAPA) 129, there were 28 cases of kidnapping, selling, and trafficking of children during 2022.

"This figure is dominated by trade cases (child)," said Nahar.

Then of the 28 cases reported, 89 children were victims. "This means that one case with several victims," he added.

KemenPPPA asks people who know, see, and hear of child kidnapping cases, to immediately report to KemenPPPA through the SAPA 129 service which can be accessed via the 129 call center and the WhatsApp application with number 08111-129-129 or can report to other authorized institutions.

Nahar also invited all parties to jointly ensure that child protection efforts can be carried out as well as possible.

"All parties, both parents, the community, and the government, including the apparatus must jointly ensure that child protection efforts can be carried out as well as possible, so that we can avoid threats that have a worse impact," he said.
