Meeting At The Palace, Jokowi-Prabowo Apparently Discussed This

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) met with Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace. There were a number of discussions at the meeting, Thursday, February 16, including sending a plane to Turkey to assist in handling the earthquake.

"Mr. Defense reported several activities of the Ministry of Defense and also reported that the Hercules aircraft sent by the Government of Indonesia had arrived in Turkey," said Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, Bey Machmudin to reporters, Friday, February 17.

Bey said the plane was sent to help deliver logistics for Turkish citizens affected by the earthquake. "The aircraft will be in Turkey used to assist the Turkish government," he said.

Certainly nothing special from the meeting. The reason is that Jokowi-Prabowo often meets to discuss the implementation of tasks at the Ministry of Defence.

"The president's meeting with Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto this afternoon (yesterday, ed) was a regular meeting that was often held by the two," said Bey.

Meanwhile, President Jokowi previously commented on his meeting with Prabowo. He said such encounters were not uncommon.

The former Governor of DKI Jakarta admitted that he often had meetings with his ministers. "Every day I meet Pak Prabowo," Jokowi said yesterday at JiExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
