Reportedly Went To PD Pasar Jaya Regarding DKI Social Assistance Rice, Here Is KPK's Reply

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is reluctant to answer rumors circulating about a team visiting the PD Pasar Jaya office. Only investigation and prosecution activities will be conveyed to the public.

This was conveyed by the Head of the KPK Reporting Section, Ali Fikri, in response to the statement of social media activist Rudi Valinka via his Twitter account @kurawa.

Through his tweet, Rudi said that last week the KPK visited the PD Pasar Jaya office. In this process, it is suspected that two directors of the regional company lost evidence related to the alleged COVID-19 social assistance (Bansos) rice corruption in DKI Jakarta.

"Apart from investigation and prosecution activities, we cannot respond further, yes," Ali told VOI when confirmed regarding the tweet, Thursday, February 16.

It is not yet clear whether the KPK is investigating the allegations made by Rudi. Ali only emphasized that investigations into alleged corruption would be conveyed openly when they were already at the investigative level.

"There are also limitations on the information that is excluded according to the provisions of the law," he said.

In the tweet, Rudi also revealed that the KPK had summoned the PD Pasar Jaya president director to the KPK's Merah Putih building to be investigated regarding DKI social assistance in 2020. "Everything was done secretly," wrote the social media activist.

Previously, Rudi uploaded the findings of rotten rice at the Pasar Jaya Warehouse in the Pulogadung area, East Jakarta. This post went viral on social media.

The rice findings were also linked to allegations regarding the issue of corruption in the procurement of social assistance for residents affected by the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, at which time the Governor of DKI Jakarta was still Anies Baswedan.

In a series of tweets, Kurawa did not clearly disclose the alleged corruption and its nominal value.

He only disclosed data that was claimed to be the result of a forensic audit by the Ernst & Young public accounting firm (KAP) which stated that there was an unknown shrinkage or unknown loss of IDR 150 billion.
