359 Families In Solok West Sumatra Enter The Extreme Poor Category, Rice Assistance Government

SOLOK - The City Government (Pemkot) of Solok, West Sumatra distributed 30 kilograms of rice assistance to hundreds of poor families or families as an effort to accelerate poverty alleviation in the area.

Deputy Mayor (Wawako) Solok Ramadhani Kirana Putra said the assistance was handed over in response to the results of the Coordination Meeting with the Minister of Home Affairs last Friday regarding the Targeting of the Acceleration of the Elimination of Extreme Poverty (P3KE).

The 30 kilograms of rice assistance was symbolically given to residents registered in P3KE, located in Tanah Garam Village, Lubuk Sikarah District, Solok City.

The Solok City Government provided assistance as much as 30 kilograms of rice per family for the poorest category with a total of 359 families according to the Desil I P3KE data.

Furthermore, it will prioritize 180 families who fall into the first category of P3KE in Solok City.

Previously, Solok Mayor Zul Elfian Umar in a meeting he chaired regarding the issue of extreme poverty in response to the results of the inflation meeting chaired by the Minister of Home Affairs, said he would use all his resources and efforts to alleviate poverty.

"It will even reduce the poverty rate in Solok City below 1 percent for 2023," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 15.

Zul also asked all team members to immediately accelerate the poverty alleviation.

"The main task must be clear, who handles it must be clear. OPD intervention must also be carried out, we must work together," he said.

According to him, to overcome the poverty that exists in Solok City, there must be action. For this reason, he hopes that this team will not only be ceremonial, but how will poverty in Solok City be resolved soon.

In addition, he also hopes that in the future the relevant OPD will find ways so that per capita income can increase, poverty rates will decrease. This is important so that we are not in extreme poverty.

The Solok City Government in February will help provide 30 kg of rice per family for the poorest category with a total of 359 families according to P3KE Desil I data, and will prioritize 180 families who are included in the Extreme Poverty Category.

"At the same time, the Solok City government will also collaborate with the Solok City Baznas which will provide assistance to the poor of approximately 265 families from BAZNAS in 2023.

Furthermore, the Mayor also requested that the social services, sub-district heads and each village head really supervise the distribution of the aid team, so that this assistance must be right on target, such as existing data, because this assistance for the community is classified as poorest and extreme poverty.
