LPSK Considers The Judge Has Invested The Status Of JC Defendant Richard

JAKARTA - The defendant Richard totaling alias Bharada E in the premeditated murder case against Yosua alias Brigadier J, was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison at the South Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, February 15.

The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) stated that the judge's verdict was much lighter than the 12-year prison sentence filed by the public prosecutor (JPU) at the last trial.

The reason is, since the level of investigation, LPSK has recommended Bharada E as a Justice Collaborator or a witness for the perpetrators who cooperated with law enforcement to uncover cases.

"Alhamdulillah, this means that the judge is really progressive, dares to give punishment in accordance with the development of the criminal justice system in us which has given birth to protection laws for victims and human rights that can be protected by LPSK, in this case Justice Collaborator," said LPSK Chairman Hasto Atmojo Suroyo told reporters, Wednesday, February 15.

LPSK is satisfied with the existence of a panel of judges who granted the justice collaborator recommendation which refers to Law (UU) number 31 of 2014.

"This means that the judges really pay attention in addition to subjective considerations, and consider input from the public, pay attention to the sense of injustice that has been felt by the community," he said.

According to Hasto, this sentence of leniency does not only mean Bharada E but for the future of the criminal law justice system in Indonesia.

"We appreciate that this trial has gone well, and Alhamdulillah the results really fulfill a sense of justice for the community," he said.

The defendant Richard totaling alias Bharada E was found guilty and involved in a series of premeditated murder cases against Yosua alias Brigadier J. Ajudan Ferdy Sambo was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison.

"The defendant was sentenced to imprisonment for 1 year and 6 months," said Chief Judge Wahyu Iman Santoso during a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, February 15.

In the verdict, Bharada E's actions or actions in the series of premeditated murder cases are believed to have violated Article 340 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph 1 to (1) of the Criminal Code. Bharada E acted as the executor of the shooting that took place at the official residence of the Police Complex, Duren Tiga, on July 8. He shot Brigadier J three to four times.
