SINGKAWANG - Member of the Singkawang City Police, West Kalimantan, Bripka Muhammad Irvan, built a special orphanage for the elderly and orphans on Jalan Tani 2, Pasiran Village, West Singkawang District.

"Panti, which was built with a concept like a hotel, has now reached 80 percent with a land area of 25x29 meters," said Bripka Muhammad Irvan, quoted from Antara, Sunday, February 12.

He said, with the help of donors, the orphanage, which was originally going to be built on one floor as many as 12 rooms with toilets in it, would be upgraded to two floors and as many as 24 rooms. In addition, this orphanage is also equipped with a kitchen, dining room, relaxing room, and light sports facilities for the elderly.

Irvan, who was met at the orphanage construction site, said that at first he wanted to build this orphanage because he started often meeting old people who couldn't afford it, living alone because of the uninhabitable condition of a house in Singkawang City.

"I often encounter the findings when I hold social services in Singkawang City," said Irvan.

So that the intention arises to build a special nursing home for the elderly so that someone specifically takes care of it.

Irvan was determined to start building with Rp2 million in cash, which he got from the Bhayangkara arisan money his wife participated in.

"Who would have thought that with the little money, it turned out that as the construction progressed, many donors helped. So that the construction of an orphanage that was originally planned for one floor could be two floors," he said again.

To complete the administration of the construction of the orphanage, a foundation was formed, namely Netizen Cinta Singkawang (NCS).

"For those of you who want to help, you can distribute the assistance to the foundation account number, namely 8171500010," he said.

Meanwhile, the elderly who are accommodated in Irvan's private house are located at Alianyang Street, Mahakam Gang, Pasiran Village, West Singkawang District, there are about 6 people.

"Next month, I believe the orphanage that was built can be occupied specifically on the first floor. For the second floor, we are still looking for funds for further development," he said.

Irvan advised, for the elderly from any circle who do not have relatives, please live in the orphanage he is currently building.

"We still accept them from any circle," he said again.

To speed up the process of building an orphanage, Irvan involved as many as 20 workers consisting of 10 routine workers and 10 roofs.
