Not Disappeared, 5 Big Beduk Belonging To The Centenary NU Committee Turns Out To Have Been Secured

SIDOARJO - Deputy Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama 1st Century Birthday Committee Rahmat Hidayat Pulungan revealed that there was a miscommunication about the missing beduk (drum) after holding a century NU reception at Gelora Delta Sidoarjo Stadium.

"We apologize earlier that during the press conference this afternoon there was a miscommunication, initially the information we received was that 5 bedug were missing. After a report on developments this evening, it turned out that the beduk were not lost, but have been secured," Rahmat said in a press statement reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 8.

The NU 1st Century Birthday committee in a previous press conference stated that 5 beduk were missing out of a total of 9 beduk. The information that Rahmat received was that the beduk, which was initially thought to be lost, was not lost, but had been secured.

Rahmat apologized because during a press conference with dozens of journalists at a hotel in Sidoarjo on Wednesday (8/2) afternoon, it was stated that 5 of the 9 beduk inside the Gelora Delta Sidoarjo Stadium were missing.

Rahmat admitted that a large number of congregation members present made the committee work extra to arrange the event. Miscommunication was unavoidable, one of which was information on the number of pilgrims who came and related to the existence of the drum used at the opening ceremony of the 1st Century NU.

"Initially it was estimated that there were 1.3 million congregation members, it turned out that the reports received by the committee were compiled from various branches and PCNUs throughout Indonesia, and the number of congregations who attended the 1 Century NU reception reached more than 4 million people," Rahmat added.

The Deputy Secretary General of PBNU also expressed his appreciation to the Sidoarjo Regency Government and the Indonesian National Armed Forces/Polri for helping the smooth reception of the NU's 1st Century Birthday Summit so that the event ended safely and smoothly.

"Our appreciation from the NU 1st Century Birthday Committee for Sidoarjo residents who are so enthusiastic about helping, starting from providing free food and drinks to the congregation's resting place, all feel well served," he said.

On behalf of PBNU, he expressed his deepest gratitude to the Regent of Sidoarjo and his staff.

"In addition, it is to the TNI/Polri as well as the committee from Sidoarjo and East Java who provide their support to the NU's 1 Century Birthday Summit Committee," he said.
