Regent Anne Ratna Said There Was A Surplus Of 33,143 Tons Of Rice In Purwakarta

JAKARTA - The Regent of Purwakarta, West Java, Anne Ratna Mustika, has ensured that the need for rice will be safe for the next few months. In fact, it is a surplus if calculated from the estimated rice production in the region.

"The estimated need for rice for the people of Purwakarta is 8,501 tons per month", said Regent Anne, in Purwakarta, Saturday, February 4, reported by Antara.

She said that 8,501 tons were a monthly requirement.

Then if it is calculated per week, the need for rice in Purwakarta reaches 160 tons, and as much as 32 tons of rice is needed per day.

According to her, the estimated rice production in Purwakarta from January to March 2023 is 58,646 tons.

Meanwhile, the demand for rice in Purwakarta for the next three months, from January to March, is 25,503 tons.

"When viewed from the supply, it is safe. So it is estimated that we will be in a surplus of 33,143 tons of rice", she said.

Previously, the Purwakarta Regent held a coordination meeting related to efforts to control inflation in Purwakarta.

According to her, the coordination meeting with sub-district heads and village heads discussed concrete steps for controlling inflation in Purwakarta, particularly regarding rice food stocks for the people of Purwakarta.

According to data from the Purwakarta Agriculture and Food Service, currently, the total area of standard paddy fields in the Purwakarta region reaches 18,000 hectares.

Of the rice fields, 10,000 hectares are technically irrigated rice fields and another 8,000 hectares are rain-fed or dry land.

The average rice productivity in Purwakarta reaches 66.8 quintals of grain per hectare.

The lowest rice productivity is 45.9 quintals per hectare. While the highest productivity is 85.3 quintals per hectare.
