The operation of the Trans Lulo bus on the permanent route in Kendari City has stalled. The Kendari City Transportation Service (Dishub) is still controlling the bus lane.

Head of the Kendari Transportation Agency, Laode Abdul Manas Shalihin, said that there are still street vendors selling on the shoulder of the Trans Lulo bus operational lane. Mainly around Kendari beach or Kendari Bay beach.

"We will coordinate with the agency authorized to handle these traders so that they are immediately brought under control so that buses can return to maximum operation," he said in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultara), Thursday, February 2, as reported by Antara.

However, Shalihin ensured that Trans Lulo buses would resume operations on their permanent route in 2023. Meanwhile, controlling street vendors on bus lanes will be followed up with relocation. However, he admits that this effort is still running slowly.

One of them, he said, was due to budget constraints for making bus stops, his party would temporarily use bus stop signs for stops.

"We plan to have five corridors, but the implementation must be step by step because it requires a large budget, the stop is only one seed, it takes hundreds of millions, because it is not just a bus stop but what is really feasible," he said.

Shalihin said that Trans Lulo buses have now become Regional Service Business Entities (BULD) but their technical coordination is still at the Transportation Service (Dishub).

In general, he said, Trans Lulo buses have been active in the form of rentals. However, the permanent route is not optimal.

"This bus has a special lane, then he doesn't stop and takes passengers at any place, but loads and drops the passengers at the bus stop or at least there is a bus stop sign," he said.

According to him, based on calculations for optimizing the operation of Trans Lulo buses, it will take approximately three months from February which means around May.

As for the three months, he said, the socialization was around 21 days, and the control was carried out for one month and other preparations.

"If we start this February, it means three months from that. The point is that 2023 is the way, God willing," he said.
