JAKARTA - The Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) ensures it makes it easy for the public to report suspected election violations.

"There is no limit for anyone to report to Bawaslu if they find allegations of election violations. This facility is one of the efforts to make it easier for the community as participatory supervisors," said Bawaslu member Puadi as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 31.

Puadi said this while giving directions in "Guidance for the Implementation of Handling and Enforcement of Violations Concerning Procedures for Handling Violations in the 2024 Simultaneous Elections based on Perbawaslu 7 of 2022" at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Bawaslu.

"Everyone can report suspected election violations. The Bawaslu's job is to receive all reports and sharpen each report as initial information. Then, Bawaslu conducts a study and follows up on the report," said Puadi.

In this regard, he advised Bawaslu officials at all levels to provide convenience in reporting suspected election violations that were encountered. According to Puadi, it is hoped that this will move the spirit of election supervision in the community as participatory supervisors.

"People who want to report, don't make things difficult, for example, people who report don't have to be faced with lots of conditions, lots of forms. Bawaslu's job is to make it easier for people to carry out participatory supervision," he said.

As a form of action to make it easier for the public to report, he also invited the regional Bawaslu to socialize the 'SigapLapor' application. This is because the application is a tool to make it easier for the public, regional government and political parties to submit reports on alleged election violations.

"We have to make it easier for people to submit reports. Therefore, we have stepped into a digitalization system for receiving reports under the name 'SigapLapor' which was launched some time ago. Later, all applications will be integrated such as SIPS and Siwaslu," he said.
