COVID-19 Update As of January 31: 260 New Cases, 4,270 Active Cases

JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Handling Task Force released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 21,002 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 260 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,730,016 people and active cases have decreased by 7 to 4,270 cases", he was quoted as saying from data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Tuesday, January 31.

Today's recovered cases increased by 263 people, bringing a total of 6,564,932 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 4 cases and a total of 160,814 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 97 cases and a total of 1,539,558 cases. Followed by West Java which has 74 new cases with a total of 1,234,909 cases. East Java has 22 new cases and a total of 637,585 cases. Banten has 21 new cases and a total of 365,905 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 70 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an additional 57 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 37 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 32 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 114,788,487.

"The positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 1.33 per cent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is recorded at 1,787 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently, 204,242,755 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 175,088,055 of the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 69,438,229 and the fourth dose was 1,270,004. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
