The Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) of South Sumatra (Sumsel) arrested a drug dealer in a direct network with a big gang of illicit drug trafficking from Myanmar.

Head of the South Sumatra BNNP Brigadier General Pol. Djoko Prihadi confirmed that based on the results of the South Sumatra BNNP investigation of the suspect NRH alias Acun (46), a resident of Sukarami, Palembang.

The suspect Acun underwent an investigation after being arrested by the South Sumatra BNNP Brantas Division Team along with East Sumatra Customs and Excise personnel on Tuesday, January 24 afternoon.

From the arrest, he said, evidence was confiscated of dozens of packages of methamphetamine packaged in tea packages that read the coolness of a dragon hologram weighing 115 kilograms.

The evidence was stored by the suspect in the trunk of a black Avanza minibus with police number BA 866 KB driven from Aceh passing on Jalan Colonel Dani Effendi, Talang Betutu, Palembang.

Djoko confirmed that the suspect Acun is a direct network of the international drug trafficking gang of Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand or often called the Golden Triangel or Golden Triangle.

For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) and Article 112 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum threat of the death penalty.
