JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran said that illegal racing in the Jakarta area and its surroundings had decreased. This was due to the street race which took place five times.

"From the data we have, the number of illegal races, both and the location and number of races have decreased," Fadil told reporters, Saturday, January 28.

According to him, the street race was intended to eliminate illegal racing. This is because it is undeniable that illegal speeding is detrimental to the racer and others.

"What is concerned is how we can reduce the number of illegal races and the safety of our souls," he said.

Street race is also said to be not just facilitating illegal racing. But it can be used as a tool to educate in driving.

"Now it could be an extension of Polda Metro Jaya educating his friends," said Fadil.
