JAKARTA - Member of Commission I of the House of Representatives Christina Aryani asked Kominfo to block content that is troubling the public, one of which is the viral phenomenon of begging online via TikTok.

"For this phenomenon, the DPR encourages the Ministry of Communication and Information to pay special attention. In the event that violations related to content are found, Kominfo must take action to block/take down," said Christina in a statement received in Jakarta, Friday, January 20, as reported by Antara.

Even if Kominfo feels that the content is not related to prohibited matters such as terrorism, pornography, online gambling, radicalism, hoaxes, and misinformation, Kominfo still needs to look further at the content as something that disturbs the public.

"Kominfo must be responsive to the many complaints from the public who see this action as very dishonorable, degrading human dignity, and not educating. things that are exploitative must be considered as content that needs to be blocked," he said.

Commission I supports the police who take action to process this case into the realm of law. The hope, continued Christina, is to provide lessons so that the public is wiser in utilizing social media.

"We also urge the public to continue to improve wisdom with social media. Cases like this prove that our digital literacy is still low. Content creators and netizens need to continue learning. I appreciate the form of spontaneous correction from fellow social media users when they find things that are deemed inappropriate and tend to be destructive," he said.

Currently there is a lot of news about "online missions" through Tiktok. This is mostly done by bathing in mud which involves young people and parents who cause polemics related to exploitation.
