JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian attended a hearing (RDP) with the Indonesian KPU and DKPP held by Commission II of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 11. In the meeting, Tito ensured that the implementation of the 2024 General Election would still be held according to the schedule or on schedule, as decided by the government together with the DPR RI and the election organizers, namely on February 14, 2024. "The election will be held on Wednesday, February 14 with a campaign period of 75 days and the Pilkada will be held on Wednesday 27 November 2024," Tito said in a meeting. Tito emphasized that there was no other agenda besides the election being held in February 2024. He ensured that he would continue to monitor the progress of the election stages that were already underway. "The government remains principled on the outcome of the agreement, there is no other agenda," he stressed. In addition, said Tito, the government will also provide support for the implementation of the 2024 General Election, including the preparation of the New Autonomy Region (DOB) in the 2024 General Election. In fact, he said, a committee has been formed between ministries to succeed in the upcoming simultaneous elections. “Perppu Number 1 of 2022 concerning Law Number 7 of 2017, then a committee between ministries was formed. Without this Perppu, it is required that all political parties must have management and offices in all provinces including the DOB, "explained Tito. Previously, Chairman of Commission II Ahmad Doli Kurnia, said a meeting with the Minister of Home Affairs, KPU and DKPP to ensure that there were no internal problems that interfered with the 2024 election stage process. "We want to ensure that these institutions are completely ready institutions, all of which are very clear, there are no internal problems. We know that in the public many are watching us all," said Doli in a meeting, Wednesday, January 11. According to the Deputy Head of Golkar, the public has started to follow and observe the 2023 political year so that the 2024 General Election can run well and be of higher quality than the previous election. Therefore, Doli reminded that all issues related to the implementation of the election can be answered properly so as not to cause problems in the future. "Because there are indeed very high concerns and attention, there are actually many issues, rumors that are developing, of course we have to answer. If there is no problem, I don't think we need to discuss it. But if it is related later to problems that disrupt the performance of election organizers, our concern is how to make this institution conducive to be implemented or not disturbed by all stages of the election," said Doli.
