During His 10 Years As Governor, Ganjar Pranowo Kasih Thousands Of Legal Aid For The Poor

JAKARTA - Ten years as Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo has helped thousands of poor people settle cases at the legal table. Now, the Central Java Provincial Government is also protecting vulnerable groups such as disabilities, women victims, to small and micro business actors.

Head of the Legal Bureau of the Central Java Regional Secretariat, Iwanuddin Iskandar, said that legal protection for the poor was the mandate of the law and the Central Java Regional Regulation regarding legal assistance. He said, to guarantee legal assistance to the poor who were litigating, the Central Java Provincial Government cooperated with the Legal Aid Institute (LBH).

"Legal aid to the poor, for that we per case (provide stimulants) of Rp. 2 million, then one year targeted 200 cases. We cooperate with 26 LBHs in Central Java spread across 35 regencies/cities," said Iwanuddi, Friday, January 6.

Iwanuddin said the legal assistance was provided for criminal, criminal and marriage cases. In fact, it is possible for non-ligatory cases to be accompanied.

He ensured that legal assistance services to the poor in collaboration with LBH could be accessed free of charge.

"The regional regulation on legal assistance is changed, not only for the poor, but also for vulnerable people, for example the disabled groups of vulnerable women and children, and other groups we have just published (Perda 1/2022)," he said.

He added, based on Perda 1 of 2022 concerning the implementation of legal assistance, apart from the poor, there are six groups that can get legal protection. Among them are children who are in conflict with the law and victims of violence, women who are vulnerable, victims of narcotics abuse, alcohol, psychotropic substances and other addictive substances, people with disabilities, micro and micro-business actors, and other vulnerable groups according to laws and regulations.

Iwanuddin also invited residents to consult regarding legal issues with the Legal Bureau, either directly or through website intermediaries or in writing. In addition, his party does not hesitate to provide education so that the public knows their position in the eyes of the law.

"The governor is very intense to the community, not only the marginalized poor and vulnerable groups of business actors (MSMEs), in order to obtain justice and legal certainty," concluded Iwanuddin.
