Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno is rumored to be joining PPP after stating that he is ready to run as a presidential candidate in 2024. Information on Sandiaga's move to the Ka'bah Party is said to be just waiting for an official announcement. Political communication observer at Esa University, Jamiluddin Ritonga, suspects that Sandiaga has another reason to be rumored to join PPP. According to him, the reason for moving the party is only for the sake of being very small in president, because Sandiaga is not the type of politician who is hungry for power. "He (Sandiaga) will gain power by upholding political ethics. Therefore, Sandi will not move the party just because he wants to run for president. He is not a type of jump politician, he is also not a pragmatic politician who is transactional just because he is lured by his position," said Jamiluddin in Jakarta, Friday, December 30.

If Sandi had moved to another party, according to Jamiluddin, it would not have been caused by wanting to run for president. However, there could be other causes that made him no longer feel at home in Gerindra. Related to this, he said, only Sandiaga knew.

"Sandi is a politician who still holds idealism. He only has the opportunity to move away from Gerindra if his idealism is no longer possible to be realized in the party led by Prabowo Subianto," said Jamiluddin Ritonga.

Meanwhile, Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto is said to have known information that Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno will join PPP. This was revealed by the Daily Chairperson of the Gerindra Party DPP Sufmi Dasco Ahmad.

Dasco said Prabowo already knew Sandiaga's information was close to the Kaaba Party. However, the Minister of Defense only responded with a smile. "Yesterday I met Pak Prabowo, I happened to be told about this news (Sandiaga joined PPP). There was no comment, except for smiling, Mr. Prabowo," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, December 29.

Because he just smiled, Dasco admitted that he did not discuss Sandiaga's issue further with Prabowo. "Yes, because there is no further discussion, we will not discuss it," said the Deputy Speaker of the DPR. Dasco explained that Gerindra only nominated one presidential candidate from the party. So if Sandiaga wants to run in the 2024 presidential election, then he must take a ticket from another political party.

"That then the person concerned runs as a presidential or vice presidential candidate, go ahead, his name also has a desire. But in Gerindra, of course, there is only one slot for Pak Prabowo. If you want from Gerindra who wants (candidate, ed), it means you have to take another slot from another party, "explained Dasco.
