Monas Opens On New Year's Eve 2023, Awards For Light Attraction And Fountains

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government held various celebrations on New Year's Eve 2023 with various activities. In addition to celebrations at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) to Sudirman-Thamrin, the National Monument (Monas) area will also remain open until early morning.

"The National Monument area is open to the public and will operate until 01.00 WIB," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Andhika Permata in a statement, Tuesday, December 27.

Andhika explained, during the New Year's Eve celebration, the DKI Provincial Government will hold a dancing fountain session starting at 19.30 WIB and a colorful light attraction starting at 18.00 WIB.

Then, there is also the celebration of New Year's Eve 2023 in Kawsan Kota Tua. "In the Kota Tua area, it will operate until 01.00 WIB which is enlivened by the appearance of the Kota Tua community," said Andhika.

The 2023 New Year celebrations at the provincial level were held at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). The peak of the New Year's Eve celebration was held at the TMII Cultural Stage on December 31 at 20.00 WIB until December 1, 2023 at 01.00 WIB.

In addition, a Young Night-Mudi festival was also held with the concept of a car free night event along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman to Jalan MH Thamrin. Along this location, there will be a number of locations for art entertainment venues that have entertainment stages by presenting various different genres of music.

"Every location of the art entertainment point will be filled with different band and art performances on each stage, with the performers of a number of artists and art performances being prepared by the Disparekraf of DKI Jakarta Province," explained Andhika.

Locations of art entertainment points on the Young Nights - Mudi include: Area Pos Bloc, Sarinah Area, Area of Bundaran HI MRT Station, Area Jl. Imam Bonjol HI Roundabout, Da wayga Penthouse Area, SCBD Area, Area FX Sudirman, Area Statue Youth Building, and Area M Bloc Space.

In addition, in enlivening the 2023 New Year's Eve festival, festivals are also held at various city/district levels located in six locations, namely:

- Central Jakarta City is located in Thamrin? - North Jakarta City at the North Jakarta Mayor's Courtyard; - West Jakarta City at the West Jakarta Mayor's Office Courtyard; - South Jakarta City located in Setu Babakan Betawi Cultural Village; - East Jakarta City located in Old Shanghai; and - Thousand Islands Regency on Untung Island Java.

"The 2023 New Year's Eve festival will be the first New Year's celebration to be held in an open space after several years of not being held due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the performers have been vaccinated and are advised to residents who want to participate to maintain the process," explained Andhika.
