Sniffer Dogs Who Also Watch the G20 Summit Will Help Security for Christmas and New Year in Sidoarjo

JAKARTA - The Sidoarjo City Police have alerted sniffer dogs to assist security during Christmas and New Year 2023 in the local district.

The Head of the Sidoarjom Police Samapta Unit, Commissioner Warih Hutomo explained that the K-9 animal unit sniffer dogs were used to help with security during Christmas and New Year.

"This readiness is carried out to anticipate possibilities that may occur in the field", said Commissioner Warih, Tuesday, December 20, quoted from Antara.

The K-9 unit or animal unit owned by the Sidoarjo Police is a sniffer dog that has the ability to catch, detect, search and rescue.

"We have prepared several sniffer dogs with detection capabilities to sterilize churches", he said.

He said that the Polri personnel who were members of the K-9 unit had previously attended special K-9 training held by the National Police Headquarters.

"The K-9 Unit of the Sidoarjo Police has also taken part in securing the G20 Summit which was held in Bali, last November 2022", he said.

He said the K-9 unit would later be tasked with sterilizing and securing churches and vital objects during Christmas and the New Year. Several trained K-9 Units will take turns carrying out tasks every day.

"We hope to assign the K-9 Unit, to provide a sense of security to the Congregation and will carry out a series of Christmas and New Year services, as well as taking turns to guard several vital objects", said Warih.
