Can Encourage The Economy, Formation Of Southwest Papua Province Needs To Pay Attention To The Aspirations Of The Papuan People In General

JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPP Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) Haris Pertama said that the establishment of the Southwest Papua province was very strategic to do because it could encourage a more advanced economy.

"The establishment of the Southwest Papua Province is very strategic to do because it can encourage the region to be more advanced, both economically, education, health, and a better human development index," said Haris in a statement quoted by Antara, Sunday, December 18.

Haris said that empirical experience has shown that regional expansion can bring significant changes to the progress of an area.

Furthermore, the chairman of the KNPI DPP also said that it is important to pay attention to the aspirations of the Papuan people in general in the formation of new provinces. This is because the aspirations of the Papuan people in general are important to encourage better progress.

"I agree that the formation of the new province must still pay attention to the aspirations of the Papuan people in general to encourage better progress," said Haris.

When the KNPI DPP held the Plenary Meeting 4 on December 4, 2022 in Jakarta, KNPI had decided on the establishment of a new Regional/Regional Distribution KNPI DPD, in accordance with Organizational Regulation Number 8 concerning the formation of Regional/Regional Financing/Regional DPD KNPI.

Thus, under Jois Kambu as chairman and Carstensz Inigo Ortens Malibela as secretary in the KNPI DPD Karetaker Management of Southwest Papua Province, there are a number of tasks that must be carried out.

The tasks in question are to prepare and implement the Provincial Conference I Youth/KNPI of Southwest Papua Province, verifying the existence of youth community organizations at the Southwest Papua Province level as a reference for OKP participation in the implementation of the Provincial Conference I Youth/KNPI of Southwest Papua Province.

Furthermore, the management of the DPD KNPI West Papua Province is also given the authority to prepare for the formation of DPP KNPI districts/cities throughout the province of Southwest Papua, as well as to deploy the management after implementing the West Papua Province Youth/KNPI Musda I.

The next task is to prepare for the implementation of the West Papua Province I Youth/KNPI Conference.

"The management of the KNPI DPD West Papua Province must always hold consultations and coordination with the KNPI DPP, in this case, daily through the Coordination Sector of the KNPI DPP Organization," said Haris.
