BMKG: Beware Of Rainfalls That Will Melanda All Indonesian Regions Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said the public needed to be aware of the potential for heavy rains that hit parts of Indonesia today, Sunday, December 11.

Based on information compiled by Antara from the official BMKG website, heavy rains are predicted to occur in Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Lampung, Banten, and West Java.

Heavy rains also have the potential to hit DKI Jakarta, East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Papua and Papua.

BMKG also predicts rain accompanied by lightning / lightning to hit Aceh, Riau, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Lampung, West Java, DKI Jakarta, and East Java.

The weather forecast also applies to West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, West Papua and Papua.

The public is also advised to be aware of the potential for strong winds in Aceh, South Sumatra, Lampung, East Java, and Papua.

In addition, BMKG said there was potential for flooding in Riau, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, West Java, DKI Jakarta, West Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Papua and Papua.

BMKG also appealed to the public and the shipping sector to pay attention to wave warnings of up to 2.5-4 meters in a number of Indonesian waters, namely the North Natuna Sea, West Aceh Waters, West Waters of Simeulue Island to Nias Islands, West Waters of the Mentawai Islands, West Indian Ocean Sumatra, and South Indian Ocean Java.

The high wave warning takes effect from Sunday 11 December at 07.00 WIB to Monday 12 December at 07.00 WIB.
