West Lombok DPRD Member Arrested While Buying Methamphetamine Is Now Undergoing Rehabilitation at BNN

MATARAM - A West Lombok Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) member with the initials AM who was caught buying methamphetamine from a dealer is now undergoing drug rehabilitation at the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara.

The Head of the Mataram Police Narcotics Research Unit, Commissioner I Made Yogi Purusa Utama, said that the rehabilitation was a follow-up to the results of an investigation by investigators who did not find elements of narcotics crime from AM's arrest, Wednesday, November 30.

"Because there is no evidence related to drugs, but the urine results are positive, we are obliged to follow up on those concerned for rehabilitation, and today we have handed them over to the Mataram City BNN", Yogi said as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 7.

Separately, the Head of Mataram City BNN Ivanto Aritonang confirmed that his party had received AM's handover for the drug rehabilitation process.

"This morning, at around 10.00 WITA, he came for rehabilitation", said Ivanto.

He also ensured that AM underwent drug rehabilitation at the Mataram City BNN. It implements outpatient drug rehabilitation.

BNN determines this because there are no facilities available for inpatient drug rehabilitation.

"So, at BNN Kota Mataram, only outpatient rehabilitation is available, there is no hospitalization, and all of our patients are also undergoing outpatient care", he said.

Meanwhile, the Mataram City BNN Addiction Counselor Heri Sutowi conveyed that the integrated team had conducted an assessment stating that AM was in the moderate category of drug user dependence.

With these results, the integrated team of law enforcement and health officials decided that AM should undergo drug rehabilitation with an intensity of therapy visits twice a week.

"For the time being, what we are implementing from the results of the assessment is that the person concerned undergoes therapy twice a week", said Heri.
