JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta was chosen as the host for the meeting of governors and mayors throughout Southeast Asia in the Mayors and Governors Meeting of the ASEAN Capital (MGMAC) 2023 forum. This was decided at the MGMAC 2022 which was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on Friday, 2 last December.

The delivery of the hosts for the 2023 MGMAC was received by the Head of the Regional Cooperation Bureau (KSD) of the Regional Secretariat of the DKI Jakarta Province, Marulina Dewi who represented the Governor of DKI Jakarta Province, Heru Budi Hartono as the leader of the DKI Jakarta Provincial delegation.

"The DKI Jakarta Province invites governors, mayors, and regional leaders in ASEAN to participate in the 2023 MGMAC in Jakarta", said Marulina in a written statement, Monday, December 5.

In the MGAC 2022 Mayor's Discussion forum, Marulina explained Jakarta's transformation in the transportation, public service, and digital city sectors.

This, said Marulina, is Jakarta's commitment to creating these changes to support the collaboration of ASEAN local governments in building the vision of ASEAN Connectivity.

Marulina Dewi also stated Jakarta's readiness to welcome and become a collaborative partner for regional governments in ASEAN.

"By working together within the ASEAN framework, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta wants to continue to improve to realize the vision of a Jakarta that is sustainable and livable", she said.

As a Collaborative City, Jakarta welcomes collaborative initiatives from local and international partners to develop the city as a better place to live.

We support the exchange of knowledge, experience, and development practices, both in urban development between ASEAN capitals", she explained.
