JAKARTA - Commission I of the DPR has received the files and data of the candidate for the TNI Commander, Admiral Yudo Margono, to be verified as an initial stage before proceeding to the fit and proper test. The data verification process, fit and proper test to factual verification by directly examining Yudo Margono's residence was rushed today. Commission I of the DPR targets that the replacement process for the commander-in-chief must be completed today. Furthermore, the results of the mechanism will be reported to the leadership of the DPR and brought into a plenary meeting to be approved.

"This morning we started by receiving the verification of the file at around 10 o'clock, whether it was from the Headquarters or his staff, Mr. Yudo handed it over first, not yet Mr. Yudo himself, then we received the file, we checked, the file was appropriate, then we carried out a fit and proper test," said DPR Commission I member Dave Akbarshah Fikarno or Dave Laksono, Friday, December 2.

Fit and proper test is scheduled to start at 13.30 WIB with a meeting agenda with general opinion (RDPU). The meeting time is estimated to last for approximately 2-3 hours. "So indeed the title of the RDPU meeting, but it is fit n proper test for the TNI commander, estimated to be completed at 4 pm," added Dave. Then, Dave continued, at 16.00 WIB, representatives of Commission I of the DPR will continue the process of factual verification by visiting KSAL Yudo Margono's residence.

"So immediately today we are speeding," said Dave.

Dave revealed that the fit and proper test for the candidate for the TNI Commander will be held openly and behind closed doors. Namely open to presentations, and closed to deepening. "It's possible that at the time of the presentation it will be open, but the deepening is closed because there are some sensitive things that we cannot open directly," said the Golkar politician.

"Yes, definitely ask questions. So maybe after his presentation, then each faction asked, if you want an in-depth investigation from each member, you must be welcome," continued Dave.

As for the deepening material, Dave assessed, Commission I of the DPR will explore the issue of rejuvenating defense equipment with budget constraints, the situation in Papua, law enforcement, and the potential for security mitigation.

"There is only one South China Sea, there are many threats from us. So don't focus on the South China Sea, there are still in addition to Papua in the Malacca Strait, the southern part of Indonesia also needs an explanation from him, because considering that the number of kuta spots is not too much, while the area is wide and the threat is big, we want to deepen it, how he is. Do we need an aircraft carrier, for example, multiplying, is it patrolling, that's what we are exploring," explained Dave.

Dave hopes that Yudo Margono can go through the process today well and smoothly. Because, even though President Joko Widodo immediately appointed him, if the candidate for TNI commander does not meet the requirements, the DPR can make a decision not to accept it.
