High Voltage: Russian Doctors Successfully Liftless Bullets From The Chest Of The Moscow Army, Fired In Ukraine

JAKARTA - A team of Russian military doctors carried out a unique surgical operation to remove an unexploded bullet from the chest of a soldier who was seriously injured in the war in Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense said.

A team of surgeons from the Mandryk Central Military Clinic Hospital, Central Military District, operated juniorset Nikolay Pasenko at the outpatient clinic, Belgorod Region, the ministry said.

"Patients are treated with wounds that penetrate the chest. The examination reveals that unexploded'magic bullets' have penetrated the ribs and lungs, lodged near the spinal cord, between the aorta and the car of the inferior quava near the liver," the ministry said in a statement, launching TASS November 11.

The risk of an explosion of ammunition is very high. "Nevertheless, military doctors together with fellow civilians wore body shields under medical use, continued this very complicated operation," the ministry said.

Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Kim of the Mandryk Central Military Clinic Hospital who carried out this unique surgical operation said the patient had to be operated on the spot because of the risk of fatal bleeding.

"The non-exploding bullet gets caught between the aorta and the inferior quasava that is close to the heart, it can cause fatal bleeding even without armament detonation. The decision is made to carry out operations locally," he explained.

After the operation, the Pasenko junior sandwich was sent to Moscow. He is currently undergoing treatment and recovery at the Mandryk Central Military Clinic Hospital.

"The surgeon ventured to perform surgery, I was against him. I didn't want the doctors to suffer because ammunition could explode. The surgeons wore body protective vests," said Pasenko.

"And now you see me sitting in front of you. My gratitude to surgeon Dmitry Kim and I will thank him for the rest of my life. He replied: 'So, we will explode together.' That's him. He's a very brave man," continued Pasenko.

The Ministry of Defense explained that the army unit where Pasenko was ambushed was carrying out special military operations in Ukraine.

Under successive fire by enemy forces, junior sergeant Pasenko stepped down from the infantry fighting vehicle and fired back.

After hearing the explosion, he felt a'strong blow' to the side and pain. After that, he was evacuated and sent to the medical center.
