A total of 78 Biak Numfor Regency Government (Pemkab) official vehicles are currently still controlled by former state civil servants (ASN) who have been transferred to work. Control will be carried out in this regard.

Acting Head of the Biak Gunadi Regional Asset Financial Management Agency said his party would control the assets of the regional goods by cooperating with the Biak District Attorney (Kejari).

"The involvement of the Biak District Attorney's Office is a follow-up to the work of the coordination and supervision team of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) together with the Biak Numfor Regency Government to curb various regional property assets," Gunadi said, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, October 19.

He said dozens of official vehicles belonging to the Biak Numfor Regency Government which had not been returned until October 2022 were dominated by motorbikes and some cars.

The Biak Numfor Regency Government, he said, continues to urge former regional officials or ASNs who have been transferred to work but still control the official vehicles belonging to the local government to immediately return them to the regional asset sector in BPKAD.

Gunadi admitted that according to the regulations, official vehicles that become regional assets are given by the government to support the smooth service work to the community.

After ASN transfers to office or retires as civil servants, the official vehicle facilities brought and controlled are not in accordance with applicable regulations, so they can be categorized as unlawful violations.

"We hope that the involvement of the Prosecutor's Office can bring back dozens of official vehicles belonging to the Biak Numfor Regency Government and are still listed as regional assets," he said.

A number of assets belonging to the Biak Numfor Regency Government such as office buildings, school buildings, Puskesmas, official vehicles, educational, furniture, electronic equipment and official houses are still registered in regional property.
