Water Already Sorted In Trenggalek, Flash Flood Now Turning To Tulungagung

JAKARTA - Flash floods that had submerged the center of Trenggalek City have now receded. The flood even moved to the Tulungagung Regency, East Java.

The movement of the flood from the mountainous region shifted following the flow of the Ngasinan River which divides the sub-districts of the city, Pogalan and Durenan and the Tazing river that crosses Gandusari District.

The two main rivers that met in the Ngasinan River battle in the Dawung Dam/Cekdam are located in Pogalan District.

The second canal of this large river blends into the flow of the Parit Raya River which passes through the Durenan District and continues into Tulungagung Regency which empties at the Neyama Dam.

This Neyama Dam floodgate is the final channel for flood disposal, both from Tulungagung and Trenggalek, to the sea on the coast of Sine Beach, Tulungagung.

"As last time, the flood from Trenggalek City moved east towards the south of Tulungagung," said Secretary of BPBD Trenggalek Tri Puspita Sari in Trenggalek, Wednesday, October 19, as reported by Antara.

In Trenggalek, severe puddles are still being observed in the Durenan District, and parts of Pogalan.

Meanwhile, in the Trenggalek City area, the flood has receded and the activities of residents and offices have gradually returned to normal.

Meanwhile, in the Tulungagung area, the overflow of the Parit Raya River was observed in the Bandung District area.

As a result of this flash flood, two elderly people, one of whom was in Ngadisuku Village, Durenan District, Trenggalek died allegedly due to hypotrmic.

In addition, hundreds of residents fled.

The impact of the flood also caused thousands of houses to be submerged and caused losses of up to billions of rupiah.
