JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs has allocated a budget of IDR55 billion for social assistance (bansos) for people with disabilities in the form of food.

Social Minister Tri Rismaharini said the social assistance targeted 84,434 beneficiary families (KPM).

"So, we will be provided with funds of IDR 55 billion for December 2022, that is for social assistance for those of you with disabilities in the form of food," said Social Minister Risma as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 17.

The Minister of Social Affairs said that people with disabilities will get a social assistance allowance of IDR 21,000 per day for food.

The distribution of social assistance is expected to be carried out in mutual cooperation, involving residents around the beneficiaries.

"So later if he doesn't have his family, he will be brought by whoever is appointed by consensus in the village," said Social Minister Risma.

Then in handling mental disabilities, Social Minister Risma said the government was trying to campaign for mental health intensively, so that there would be no more cases of deprivation.

"This year, we have opened more than 4,000 shacks. These are our efforts to deal with disability,” said Social Minister Risma.

Previously, the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) prepared an additional budget allocation of IDR493 billion to the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) for the distribution of social assistance to the elderly, orphans, and people with disabilities.
