Police Schedule Inspection of Inspector General Teddy Minahasa on Drug Cases

JAKARTA - The National Police of the Republic of Indonesia is scheduled to begin questioning Inspector General of Police Teddy Minahasa on Monday regarding his involvement in the alleged criminal case of drug abuse.

Teddy Minahasa's examination was carried out in parallel, namely ethical violations by the Professional and Security Division of the National Police and examination of criminal acts by the Metro Jaya Regional Police. "This Monday has just started the TM examination", the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector Dedi Prasetyo, when confirmed in Jakarta as reported by Antara.

The two-star police general explained that the ethical examination of Teddy Minahasa was carried out by the National Police Police's Professional and Security Division at the National Police Headquarters. This examination is in the context of filing before the session of the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) is carried out. "Yes, file first, examine witnesses and others", said Dedi.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the criminal case of Teddy Minahasa related to his alleged involvement in the network or buying and selling of drugs was carried out by the Metro Jaya Police.

According to Dedi, the two investigations were carried out in parallel according to the instructions of the National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo. "The KKEP case is handled by Police's Professional and Security Division and the Metro Police are handling the crime. Parallel (inspection) is the same way (criminal and ethical)", said Dedi.

Previously, on Friday, October 14, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo announced the arrest of Inspector General Teddy Minahasa by the Indonesia Police's Professional and Security Division related to the alleged illicit drug trafficking case handled by Metro Jaya Police.

The National Police Chief ordered the Head of the Police's Professional and Security Division to examine Teddy Minahasa regarding ethical violations so that the ethics trial could immediately be processed with the threat of dishonorable dismissal (PTDH). "In addition, I ask the Metro Jaya Police Chief to continue the process related to handling the criminal case", said Sigit.

Investigators from the Metro Jaya Police stated that Teddy Minahasa was suspected of having ordered his subordinates to set aside evidence of methamphetamine from the results of the disclosure of the case for circulation.
