The Kremlin Calls Russian Military Operations In Ukraine Continues Despite NATO's Involvement

JAKARTA - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia would continue its military operations in Ukraine, despite the involvement of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

"In fact, NATO has been involved in the Ukraine conflict. However, it has in no way affected our objectives. That said, the operation will continue and we will," he said in an interview with Rossiya-1 on Sunday, as reported by TASS, October 17.

"Apparently, it makes us mobilize economic and other forces. The Kiev regime is one thing, but the potential of NATO is another. That means additional burdens. However, our potential allows us to continue operations in this situation," Peskov stressed.

NATO and Russia have recently been criticizing each other, regarding the development of the situation in Ukraine and its repercussions.

Last week, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said his side would not be intimidated by Russian nukes, on the sidelines of the alliance's defense ministers meeting in Brussels, Belgium.

However, he warned Moscow of the "severe consequences" of using any kind of nuclear weapon against Ukraine, but declined to provide details on a potential NATO response. He said a nuclear strike would fundamentally change the nature of the conflict and signal a very important crossing of lines.
