BMKG: Palembang, West Java, Jakarta And The Majority Of Big Cities In Indonesia Are Raining Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the majority of big cities in the country will experience rain on Thursday, October 13.

According to online information from the BMKG which was followed in Jakarta, Thursday, the thing that affects rain in big cities in Indonesia is because of the seeds of a 90W tropical cyclone in the South China Sea, which causes the formation of a convergence area in the South China Sea.

Then, the cyclonic circulation is also in the West Indian Ocean of Bengkulu and Papua, which forms a convergence area from the Papua New Guinea region to the Papua region.

Other convergence areas also extend from the Aceh region to the Malacca Strait, from the Mentawai Islands of West Sumatra, in Central Java from East Java to the Java Sea, from the South Indian Ocean of Central Java to West Java, in West Nusa Tenggara from the Timor Sea to the Banda Sea, from South Sulawesi to the Gulf of Tomini, from Papua New Guinea to the Bay of Cendrawasih and in the southern part of Papua.

This condition is able to increase the potential for rain cloud growth around tropical cyclone seedlings and along the convergence area.

Meanwhile, the impact-based weather forecast on October 13, 2022, is on alert status in the areas of Lampung, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, and East Java. The public is advised to remain vigilant and always update weather information.

For the Sumatra region, light rain is forecast in Palembang and Pekanbaru. Meanwhile, heavy rain is predicted in Bandar Lampung.

Rain that can be accompanied by lightning or thunder is predicted in Pangkalpinang, Bengkulu, and Jambi. The Aceh region is predicted to be cloudy.

Meanwhile, the Medan area is predicted to rain with heavy intensity and the Tanjungpinang area is predicted to rain which can be accompanied by lightning or thunder.

In the Java region, which is located in the Semarang area, light rain is predicted. Meanwhile, in the Serang and Bandung areas, moderate-intensity rain is predicted. Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya are predicted to rain, accompanied by lightning and thunder.

Light rain is predicted in the Palangka Raya and Tanjung Selor areas. Meanwhile, in the areas of Pontianak and Banjarmasin, light rain is predicted, while in Samarinda fog is predicted.

For Bali and Nusa Tenggara, Denpasar is predicted to rain with light intensity. Moderate rains are predicted in the cloudy areas of Mataram and Kupang.

Mamuju, Manado, and Kendari will experience light rain. Moderate rainfall will occur in the Makassar and Palu areas, while in the Gorontalo region the weather is predicted to be cloudy.

In Ternate, Ambon and Jayapura regions, light rain is forecast. Meanwhile, the Manokwari area tomorrow, October 14, is predicted to rain with moderate intensity.
