JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan opened a bicycle lane with a construction progress of 85 percent in Semanggi Parks on the west side of 229 meters and 330 meters on the east side, respectively.

"This green space can not only be passed, but is enjoyed by pedestrians, as well as bicycle users," said Anies at Semanggi Park, South Jakarta, Wednesday, October 12.

In addition to bicycle lanes, access was also built for pedestrians and pedestrians (jungle bridges) each with a width of two meters west of Plaza Semanggi along 157.28 meters and the east side near the Sultan Hotel along 158.7 meters.

Anies explained that the bicycle lane will complement the bicycle lane that has been built currently which reaches about 195 kilometers.

Meanwhile, pedestrian lanes are expected to complete the revitalization of the sidewalks that have been built to reach 240 kilometers.

Anies added that later the facilities in the Semanggi Park will be managed by the DKI BUMD, Jakarta Tourisindo (JXB).

When asked about the supervision of the potential for garden damage, Anies did not explain in detail, but he said that all of Jakarta was supervised by one of the DKI Satpol PP.

"If there are Satpol PPs throughout Jakarta, they don't have to be here," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the DKI Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that the arrangement of bicycle lanes and pedestrians in Semanggi Park has been carried out since August 2022 and is targeted for completion at the end of October 2022.

The project contractors are DKI BUMD, PT Jaya Konstruksi Manggala Pratama Tbk, which is financed using the Building Floor Koefficient (KLB) funds by PT Sampoerna Land.

Syafrin added that the construction and arrangement of the Semanggi area is a follow-up work for the construction of a bicycle lane on Jalan Sudirman-Jalan Thamrin along 11.8 kilometers which is limited to plant pots (planter boxes).

The budget for the construction of the Sudirman-Thamrin bicycle lane reached Rp30 billion from third-party KLB.
