COVID-19 Update as of October 11: 2,077 New Cases from Examination of 73,573 Specimens

JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 73,573 specimens were examined with the results of 2,077 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,448,220 people and active cases have risen to 16,392", said the data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Tuesday, October 11.

Today's recovered cases increased by 1,540 people, bringing the total to 6,273,593 people recovered. Then, the number of positive confirmed cases who died increased by 16 cases and the total was 158,219 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 738 cases and a total of 1,432,120 cases. Followed by West Java with 335 new cases with a total of 1,182,779 cases. East Java with 274 new cases and a total of 607,263 cases. Banten with 204 new cases and a total of 338,734 cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 109,341,629.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 6.14 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 4,805 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 204,722,385 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 171,345,141 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 64,111,815 people and the fourth dose was 641,003 people. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
