Rainlines Into SAR Constraints Find 2 Lost Gold Findings In Bengkulu Forests

BENGKULU - The joint SAR team experienced weather problems in the process of searching for two missing gold miners after entering the forest of Sebelat Ulu Village, Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province.

Disaster Analyst of the Lebong Regency BPBD, Masayu Uminil Hana, said rain accompanied by strong winds hit the search location since Thursday, October 7, afternoon. "The search for the two victims was difficult because of the rain that had fallen since yesterday afternoon and now the atmosphere around the location is cloudy and it will rain," said Masayu in Bengkulu City, Friday, October 7.

He added that another obstacle in the form of forest terrain in Sebelat Ulu Village, which was passed by the joint SAR team in the search process, was quite difficult. Sweeping of the forest was carried out through the nearest route.

Masayu said that this morning three joint teams had entered the forest to continue the search process.

Masayu explained that before being declared missing, two gold seekers had said goodbye to the forest of Sebelat Ulu Village. After 15 days had passed, both of them did not return home.

Then, six family members followed to the location of the gold mine which was in the forest, but the family did not find any signs of the whereabouts of the two victims.

After deciding again, the family immediately reported to the village head to ask for help from BPBD and Basarnas. It is known that two gold miners, namely Y (30) and G (30), were declared missing in the forest of Sebelat Ulu Village, Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province. Based on information, the two residents went to the forest to mine gold on September 14 and the disappearance of the two victims was in Tebo Blau Village, Lebong Regency. In the search, the Bengkulu Basarnas deployed several tools to assist in searches such as one D-max unit, one truck rescue unit, one pal Palengle set, one set of pal Mount energy, pal. navigation, Pal. Communication, Pal. Medical.

The team conducting the search consisted of the Bengkulu Basarnas, BPBD, members of the Police and TNI as well as the people of Lebong Regency.
