JAKARTA - Officers from the Precise Pioneer Patrol Team of the Bekasi Metro Police arrested four teenagers because they were caught carrying sharp weapons in the Pondok Gede area, Bekasi, West Java.

"An inspection was carried out for a sharp weapon, a sickle type, hidden in a red sweater that was used by the perpetrator," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol. Endra Zulpan, quoting Antara, Wednesday, October 5.

Zulpan said the arrest began when the patrol team was crossing the Pondok Gede area in the early hours of Tuesday, October 3, at around 03.30 WIB.

At that time the team saw four teenagers riding a motorcycle. But when approached by officers, the perpetrators immediately fled on a motorbike.

"The Precise Pioneer Patrol Team of the Bekasi Metro Police, which was on patrol, saw a motorcycle riding in a car. When approached by the driver, he fled," said Zulpan.

The teenagers even tried to escape by entering a narrow alley to avoid being chased by officers.

However, the escape attempt was in vain because the officers continued to hunt the four teenagers until they were cornered.

Officers then conducted an examination of the four teenagers and found a sharp weapon type celurit.

Upon these findings, the four were then taken to the Bekasi City Metro Police for inspection.

Police are also still conducting further investigations regarding the motives of the teenagers carrying sharp weapons.
