COVID-19 Update As of October 2nd: 1,322 New Cases, Most are DKI Jakarta, Followed by West Java

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 34,111 specimens were examined with the results of 1,322 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,434,585 people and active cases have fallen by 263 cases to 17,434 cases," according to data from the Ministry of Health, Sunday, October 2.

Today's recovered cases increased by 1,575 cases, bringing the total to 6,259,019 people recovered. Then, 10 positive confirmations died and a total of 158,132 people.

The province with the highest number of new cases was DKI Jakarta with 551 cases and a total of 1,427,069 cases. Followed by West Java with 183 new cases with a total of 1,180,546 cases. East Java has 156 new cases and a total of 605,655 cases. Then, Banten with 124 new cases and a total of 337,500 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 820 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 171 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 154 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 143 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached

107,942,059.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 6.72 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 1,919 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 204,605,084 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 171,216,741 people have received the second dose of vaccination. While the third dose of vaccination was 63,640,864 and the fourth dose was 622,295. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
