COVID-19 Update As of September 28: 1,915 New Cases from Examination of 73,991 Specimens

JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 73,991 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 1,915 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,427,764 people and active cases have increased by 12 to 19,185 cases", said the data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Wednesday, September 28.

The number of recovered cases today increased by 1,884 people, bringing the total to 6,250,503 people recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 19 cases and totaled 158,076 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 695 cases and a total of 1,424,400 cases. Followed by West Java which has 372 new cases with a total of 1,179,361 cases. Banten has 208 new cases and a total of 336,915 cases. East Java has 190 new cases and a total of 604,892 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 666 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 421 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 207 recovered cases and Central Java with an additional 112 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 108,590,948.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 6.71 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 4,621 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently, 204,533,449 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 171,140,621 vaccinations for the second dose. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 63,396,824 and the fourth dose was 604,113. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
